Hi. I'm Jen. I live in Park Slope, Brooklyn with my boyfriend Bryan, who was kind enough to design this site for me. We also have a third member of our little family- our resident fuzzball, Clyde the Guinea Pig. Before I moved to New York City to go to school, I lived in the glamorous town of Flemington, NJ, but lived in scenic Sheboygan, WI until I was 9. If you know what bubblers, blue moon ice cream, or the Spy House is, you are a completely awesome person. I just landed my first real job as a development assistant at the New York Landmarks Conservancy after somehow managing to graduate from NYU with honors. Honors for what, you ask? Just check out my research page to learn more about the truly uplifting, feel good project I wrote my thesis on.

Other things about me, in no particular order:
Favorite books: Manifesta, by Jennifer Baumgardner and Amy Richards. I usually don't read much fiction, but my other favorite (get ready to think I'm a dork) is Tale of Two Cities.
Favorite kids book: Petronella! The one *good* feminist fairytale. My mom rocks for finding me a copy of this out-of-print book.
Favorite movies: I'm a total film snob... but some of my favorites are A Clockwork Orange, Brazil, and (although I can't bring myself to watch it very often) Requiem for a Dream. My cheesy, fluffy favorites are Drop Dead Gorgeous, Clerks, and Office Space.
Favorite things about New York: the restaurants, the fact that I can do almost anything at any time of day, walking around my neighborhood in awe of the beautiful old brownstones around me, and the city skyline at night.
Favorite music: The Beatles, Tori Amos, Sleater Kinney, Poe, Badly Drawn Boy, Radiohead, Bjork, and Jimmy Eat World. Bryan is making me fall in love with Self and the Eels. I need more CDs by Aimee Mann and April March.

I do my best to be a feminist, bleeding-heart liberal. I've been a vegetarian since I was about 14. I love to cook. I like to think I'm tough, but I'm a total wuss. Street harassment makes me angry. I can be kinda shy. I'm a nostalgic introvert, which is probably something you'll pick up on if you read my site. If there's anything else you'd like to know, you can just read the rest of my site. Or e-mail me. So yeah, that's it.
